I am incredibly proud to say that 2012 marks ten years since the accident. Most importantly, I am thriving in my life not just surviving it. As a woman now living with disabilities, I live on my own, am completing my Master’s degree this winter, own a home and have a life that I love. I make a difference through the work I do, in my advocacy, through my CFUW Access Award, and through sharing my own story with others.
This month, I was asked to submit an article to the Canadian Federation of University Women about my experience meeting Oprah Winfrey in May. It is featured in their October 2012 Newsletter.
